The psoas muscles are major postural muscles and powerful hip flexors. They work all day long supporting our posture while standing and sitting and get us moving through life with walking, climbing stairs, hiking, biking etc... This video will give you clarity about what and where they are, how we use and abuse them (! dang chairs!), and how to care for your body to have strong, long, happy psoas muscles. You may be experiencing unhappy psoas muscles if you feel pinching or gripping in the groin area, lower back pain, lower deep belly pain, clicking and snapping sounds (often without discomfort) in the hip when you move your leg around. Do this exploration with me and then go to the video Psoas Release, Work, Stretch, Rest (33 min) to go through a guided practice to care for this extremely important central part of the body.
