Mobile, Fluid Hips and Legs (77 min)

In this class you will learn sama vrtti pranayama to connect to the breath and center yourself. We then take the subtle movement of breath into the bigger movement of asana focused on the hips and legs. We'll use a "slider" (see note below) to improve hip mobility (strength through our range of movement) and prepare for a sequence of standing poses that take the hip socket through a full range of motion. An excellent practice to bring more understanding of the relationship of movement between the pelvis and the legs and pelvis to the torso and cultivate strength, flexibility and stability.

(You can purchase "sliders" at stores that carry "fitness equipment" or you can do what I'm doing and use a small towel on a smooth floor. If you have carpet you can use a paper plate with a patch of duct tape on the top side so your foot can grip it.)
